Make sure to pick up your Murray for Judge Campaign sign (more…)
My name is Philip J. Murray (“PJ”) and I am a candidate for judge on the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.
By way of background, I have been a trial lawyer in private practice since 1990. From 1988-1990, I was a law clerk to the Honorable Barron P. McCune, a federal trial judge. Currently, I am a partner in the law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl, which is one of the top law firms in the country for civil trial work.
I am proud to be recommended for this position by the Allegheny County Bar Association and to have been given the rating of “AV” by Martindale Hubbell, the most recognized lawyer, peer-to-peer rating service in the country.
Born and raised in Penn Hills, I attended the University of Pittsburgh, receiving my B.S in Psychology in 1985 and received my law degree from The Duquesne University in 1988.
My wife of over 22 years, Carol Gibson Murray, is the daughter of the former Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Western Pennsylvania, the Honorable Gerald K. Gibson. We have three children, Vanessa, Keenan and Quinn, and have lived in the south hills since 1990.
Service is very important to me. I am also chair of the Civil Service Board in my community and have coached baseball and football for many years at the youth level. It is now time for me to give back to a profession which has been so good to me.
I am ready and qualified to be a judge on the Court of Common Pleas and I respectfully ask for your vote on primary election day.
Philip (“PJ”) Murray
